Missionary kids probably have some challenges (mostly that of living far away from all of their extended family), but they also have many special blessings.

A lady from a mission group who visited this summer asked the Hodges daughter, Celina:  “What do you want to DO when you grow up?”   Celina had a blank look on her face as if she didn’t understand what was being asked.  The lady quickly rephrased her question to ask, “What do you want to BE when you grow up?”  Without missing a beat and with a big smile, Celina answered, “A missionary!”

Do NOT feel sorry for these kids.  They are NOT “suffering for Jesus.”   They are growing up in loving homes, a wonderful church, and a full-fledged school where an excellent education is received.  These young-uns are well-adjusted kids who are learning from a very young age what it means to serve Christ.  It is a happy life with loving parents, lots of friends, and folks around the world who are praying for them.

The Hodges and Ralston MKs:

Pr 8:32 ¶ Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
