We are very busy with all the preparations for the start of school. Our teachers have arrived and they are already feeling much settled. We had our first meeting with them on Tuesday. We also had our meeting with our Honduran teacher, Mr Ochoa who is also the pastor of a Baptist church in the capital city of Honduras.
- Praising God that our teachers are safely
- arrived and settled in for the school year!
Last Sunday, 74 people were brought to church on our buses. We had a contest among the Sunday School classes to see who has the most in their class. Claudia and her class of girls won the pizza competition in our Sunday School. She had 29 students in her class, and they enjoyed their “pizza” prize during Sunday School!! We had a great morning service during which Samuel baptized a new convert: sixteen-year-old Joselin. She rides the bus from the new area we are visiting.
- Joselin has prayed to receive Jesus Christ as Savior
- and has now been baptized. We praise God for His
- blessings!
- What a joy see 74 souls ride our buses to church!
On Tuesday at our evening service, we observed the Lord’s Supper. We also had a special farewell service for the Rolstons. This Sunday (August 14) will be their last Sunday with us. They have done so much for our church and will be deeply missed by all of us.
- The Rolstons have been a great blessing.
- We will miss them and pray God’s best
- blessings upon their future ministry.
After the service, we had a sweet time of fellowship:
- Everyone enjoyed the fellowship after church.
We recently held a YOUTH SERVICE which was well attended. One of our seminary students, Henry, preached that evening.
- Henry preaching in the Youth Service~~
- proclaiming God’s Word!
- Please pray for these young people who attended
- the Youth Service.
On Wednesday, our Seminary boys went and helped construct a “house” for one of our church members, Marcos Tonio. It was a very hot day, but they were very thankful that it wasn’t raining. They worked very hard, and I believe Marcos and his family plan to to move into the new place in two days. Marco’s wife is still not saved, but I believe she will soon. She comes regulary to our services now. I know many have been praying for Arali’s salvation. Please continue to do so.
UPDATE ON OUR SON, JOSEPH: Joseph is doing well, but we have been told to wait another week for his test. Please continue to pray that when he has the test, it will come back negative.
We always enjoy getting out and about, and there are always interesting things to observe along the way…
- Setting out to go to the City
- You never know what you might see crossing
- the road when driving in Honduras!
On tomorrow, there is a big possibility for us to go to the north coast to look at a little van for the school. We are planning to have transportation service for the students this year. Please pray for our school: administration, teachers, and especially for the students God will send our way for this coming school year!
Thanking you for your prayers for us here as we close this update. May Jesus Christ be glorified in it all.
