Samuel started the New Life Boys’ Troop when our only son Joseph was about six years old. Most of the boys here don’t have a daddy in the home, so Samuel wanted to teach the boys some of life’s principals through the ministry of a troop.
Samuel held a troop meeting today with a good number of boys attending. The troop meetings teach them to obey and respect God’s Word. They also have to memorize Bible verses, be faithful to church, and obey the laws of the troop. In addition, they must memorize the principles of the troop such as respect women, say no to drugs, alcohol and to say “no” to strange women! As they do these things, they earn points and can use the accumulated points to get a troop uniform as well as other items such as a hatchet, knife, various tools, etc.
Needless to say, the boys love their Troop meetings!
