Joseph has not been well. He’s battling a cold and runny nose. He was in pain a couple of nights but is on the mend.

He will have his appointment this Thursday. They have a silicone and a rubber band in his eye. The doctor did this so that Joseph can fly back to Honduras. We could have had the option of putting gas in his eye so his retina would stay intact, but he would not been allowed to fly.

He has to have 2 different kinds of eye drops. One of them he needs about 4 drops a day and the other is twice a day. He has to have his head down all the time, and he has to sleep with his head facing down. When he watches a show, he places a mirror to reflect it onto his mirror. Of course, everything he watches is up side down! His spirit is sweet.

After 6 months, Joseph will have to come back to the States to have his rubber band, silicone, and oil removed. His own eyes will then reproduce the right amount of oil needed for his right eye. We are praying that he will be able to recover most of his sight. As for right now, his eye is badly bruised up from the 4 hr and 10 minute surgery. It’s very red and bloody looking.

We appreciate all who are praying. Your prayers have sustained us through this very difficult time. God bless

For the Cause,
Sam Hodges
