It has been a busy month, and the Lord has provided endurance for each big ministry event. (Please remember to click on each photo for a better view!)
We had a wedding! One of our teachers, Reba Stekman, and Adan Sierra were united in marriage in a beautiful ceremony at our church. Reba’s parents, her three sisters, a niece and a nephew came from America for the wedding. We fed about 450 people at the wedding reception. It didn’t rain, and the lights stayed on!!
Our Ladies conference was a big success with some eight churches represented and more than 160 ladies in attendance. More than 80 ladies from other churches came and spent the night with more than 70 of them staying on our church property thanks to the loan of 55 mattresses by a brother in Christ.
Our conference theme was “ENDURANCE” which was based on the 1 Corinthians 13 “Love Chapter” and specifically verse 7C. Miss Margaret Stringer was our guest speaker. She was a single missionary in Irian Jaya for more than 40 years. She was such a blessing to all of the ladies who attended. Miss Stringer stayed with us in our home. She was like a grandma to our kids, and we enjoyed our chats in the late evening. What a joy to know her. I would like to encourage churches to think about having her in your ladies group or even asking her to come for a mission conference.
On Sunday, we had a special event with New Life’s Longest Sandwich served to our children after the morning service.
We had an October appointment with Joseph’s eye doctor. The news was not too encouraging as the doctor stated that Joseph’s vision will not be better. Right now his peripheral vision is okay but he has about 1% sight. We are praying that his vision will greatly improve after the removal of the silicone on December 7. Joseph’s eye pressure went to 12. That was a wonderful praise!!! To recuperate more of his eye sight, Joseph might need to have another surgery. Please continue to pray for him. We know a lot of God’s people are praying.
We thank the Lord for His many blessings of grace, strength, and endurance as we labor in Sabanagrande, Honduras!
