Camp was a success in more ways than one this year. We had 105 people staying on campus from 5 different churches, and there were about 30 new campers. From ages 12-24, teens competed in preaching, children’s lessons, music and voice, choir, dramas, and arts and crafts.

Our four teams this year were the Aztecs, Mayas, Lencas, and Incas, with the theme of “Higher Ground.” Our game leaders were fun, our cooks (especially my wife Julie) prepared delicious food, and the teens were safe and healthy overall.

But the biggest success this week was the spiritual victories won. Four teens were saved, and two got reassurance of their salvation. The Holy Spirit worked through the preaching that challenged our Christian teens to choose higher ground. Though we were reminded that higher ground is harder ground to travel, the reward is worth it without question. Our reward is Christ and His glory. Several teens made commitments to personal devotions, purity, and better service to God. We pray teens will put their commitments to practice this coming year. Thank you for your prayers as they give a completely different outcome to our ministry.

For the cause,

Sam Hodges
